    I have both recordings featuring music from the film, THE BENNY GOODMAN STORY, the Decca soundtrack and the Capitol Records album recorded in December of Benny's many solos and Harry James' SING SING SING, SHINE and his recreation of the Ziggy Elman solo on AND THE ANGELS SING especially had more fire and feeling/5(22).

    An all around tough cookie (and reputed to be difficult to work with), Goodman nevertheless hired interracial groups, working with the finest musicians (Lionel Hampton, Gene Krupa, Teddy Wilson, Charlie Christian), and blazed a trail for big bands and small jazz outfits through his various incarnations.
